Ah the Weekend

The weekend is over and today is Monday. (Oh fun)
This past weekend was pretty good. I celebrated my birthday on Saturday with my family. I mostly recieved money. Always a good thing especially with gas as expensive as it is right now. Friday night, I went out with some ladies from work. That was a blast. Sunday the Cardinals defeated the Brewers 10-2. Pujoles hit 2 home runs and Chris Duncan hit 1 home run. Go Cards!!!

Cards Lead the National League

Cards Won!!! The Cardinals are beginning to redeem themselves. After starting slow, losing 3 in a row, the Cardinals are now tied for first in their Division with Cincinnati and Milwaukee by winning the last 4 in a row. The Cardinals now have a record of 5-4.
The Cards will be home for 5 games, the first three against Milwaukee and the last two against the Pirates.

It's a Good Day

Today, I received my first by-line. In the second edition of The Lindenwood Legacy, one of my articles was published. Granted it would have been nice not to have on the last page. Next time I am shooting for the front page.

The Cardnials won last night! Extra innings and Izzy pitched. However, if someone would please light a fire under Pujoles, that would be fine with me.

This week is going pretty well.

Daily Rant

What is the point of taking lit. classes? I can read. I have proved that the past 15 years of my life. Why do I have to continue to prove that?

Besides lit. classes, I am starting to miss my friends for MoBap. Don't get me wrong, I have made some good friends at LU, but I want to resurect those friendships from the first year and a half of college.

The weather in Missouri is crazy. It is April 9th and it is cold outside. I needed to wear gloves today. It is suppose to be cold again tomorrow. So I know that I will be made fun of fun my two jackets that I will be wearing to class.

Cardinals have now won 2 games in a row. Wow, a winning streak. Do you think it will last through the 28th when I get to go to the Cardinal/Cubs game?

Wednesday I will have my first by-line. Granted half of my story has been cut out because of space, but still it's my first by-line.

Blogger Released from Jail

Today, as I was visiting my usual websites, I came across a rather upsetting story.

At mediabistro.com, I came to a stroy about a young man who was put in jail for contempt, because he would not release a video he posted on his blog. As bloggers, we are independent journalist. We need to be protected just as employed journalists. Josh Wolf, from California, was the young man arrested. After spending 7 months in jail, Wolf was released yesterday on the condition that he would turn the video over to the prosecutors and in turn would not have to testify for a grand jury. Wolf plans on lobbying in Washington D.C., for a lobby for a shield law to protect journalists of all kind. "We shouldn't have government deciding who is or isn't a journalist," said Wolf.

Is there an end?

Sometimes it feels as if there is no bottom to the tunnel you are falling through. Where is rock bottom? How far past bad news is it? I wonder sometimes if the bottom to this pit is anywhere near where I am.

Today has just felt like I was at the bottom, but it still feels like I haven't found the footing to start climbing out of the pit.When you find out someone so near to you might possibly have a disorder that you absolutely have no control over, you feel like you are somewhere close to that bottom. What can you do for someone who had done so much for you? I wish there was something more that I could do. But right now I know that the best and only thing I can do is pray. For those of you who believe in the power of prayer please pray for those close to you that they may never have to experience the feeling of the pit they fall into yet for some reasons when they need that bottom to start their climbing out they cannot find it.

Each day is a path which when added together create a road through life.

A Sad Day with Sunshine

As the sun goes down on the first day of April, take a moment to reflect on the day.

The bright sun seemed to be a good omen for the Openning Day of Cardinal Baseball, but it ended sadly. In a depressing loss of 6 to 2, against the New York Mets, the Cardinals did not quite seem like the team that ended the 2006 season. What was the cause? Was it Tony LaRussa arrest during Spring Training? Or was just first game jitters? Whatever the cause, there is absolutely no shaking the faith of Cardinal fans. This is the repeat year. As Chicken Little would say, "Today is a new day." Just keep reminding yourself of that tomorrow.

Not just is today a sad day because the Cardinals lost the season openner, but because today was the day of transition back to the grind of school. As the last day of Spring Break, it was catch-up day for the procrastinators of Spring Break. Instead of enjoying today, it was a day to study for tomorrows classes and pray that the second half of the semester is better than the first.
