The first two days of my new job have been just that, my first two days. It has been the usual paper work and training. I am still learning a lot about the University itself and the dynamics of those I am working with.
I have spent time with each of the other liaisons and have learned a great deal from each of them. They each have their own take on what it is like, and they have their own pros and cons about the job.
The biggest challenge is being new to the area. It is only my second day, and I have already been late to work.
This morning there was a a really bad accident on I-10 that backed-up traffic on every road going North and West. Unfortunately for me the only two ways I know how to get to UAT are the I-10 and 48th Street. The accident was at the intersection of these two. I was suppose to be at work at 8am this morning. I left around 7:15am ish and got there at 9am. Yes, that is 1 hr and 45mins ish.
So Addie, in answer to your question, the first and second days have went well. I am very excited to have found such a great place to work.

My last day before Adulthood
As my friend Susan said today was my last day before adulthood starts. Tomorrow I start my job at the University of Advancing Technology.
But as my last day before I start my 8-5 job I went exploring. I drove all over town this morning. I went to Jamba Juice and got my Bright Eyed and Blueberry Smoothie. I then drove all over Tempe to find a park where I could sit and read a little on a few books. I found some time after that to go to Arizona Mills Mall. Didn't buy anything, except lunch.
So tomorrow is the big day and I am EXCITED!!! I haven't worked in 2 and 1/2 weeks, and I miss it. I find there are too many hours in the day not to be working.
Well I must be on my way. I hope all of you are rock starring it up in the STL, or Angie in Hawaii.

Day One of Freedom
This morning around 10:00am, I dropped my dad off at the airport, gave him some hugs and said goodbye. Not goodbye for good, but goodbye.
Don't get me wrong I love my family, but I am now free. I no longer have a midnight curfew, nor do I have to tell them where I am at every waking moment. And I don't have to make sure I have on SPF 30 Sunscreen (thanks for sending it mom, but 15 will do).
All the little things that don't really matter when you are 10-15 even 16-18 years old, I don't have to do anymore. You know the things that when you come home from college you just want to be done with, but mom and dad don't want to cut the cord yet.
I spent the evening at a friend's family Bar-B-Q. It was pretty good. I am not really sure what I am going to do tomorrow. I think I am going to go exploring the area before I start my 8-5 job on Wednesday. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Should be nervous, scared and that the entire thing should be hard
In less than 48 hours I will be on the road to Phoenix. I will close one chapter of my life to start another.
People keep telling me how I should be feeling. They say I should be nervous, scared and that the entire thing should be hard.
I guess I should fill in any newbies here. I am moving to Phoenix for a job, since I have recently graduated from college.
Why should this be hard? So what I am moving across the county. I have lived in the same city for 21 years, and, well frankly, I am ready for a change. Yes, I am going to a place where I have no blood relatives. But I have some great friends there.
Why should I be nervous? When I was younger I was terrified of change. I did not handle it well. I would always end up in tears. But I have learned to embrace change and that change is a good thing.
Why should I be scared? I made a decision to move, and I am ready to take it on. Growing up children are always told they can do what ever they put their minds to. Why now do people doubt that? Is it because parents just want children to feel good about themselves, even though the parents themselves don't believe it?
Well, I know that anyone can do anything they put their minds to and can be successful. I have set my mind on success in my new job, and I know that I will be successful. I am not nervous, scared and it is not as hard as everyone is trying to make it.
I am excited about the change, as I should be. Look out PHX, Lane is on her way, and she is going to rock!!!
